Crowns and Bridges

crowns

A crown is used to entirely cover broken, decayed or cracked enamel. Besides strengthening a damaged tooth, a crown can be used to improve its appearance, shape or alignment. Crowns are also used in dental implant procedures and in cosmetic dentistry to provide a tooth-like shape and structure for function.
A bridge may be recommended if you’re missing one or more teeth. Bridge consist of two crowns at opposite ends joined by false teeth in between known as Pontics Crowns, bridges are made up of metal alloys, ceramic or porcelain.
Gaps left by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to rotate or shift into the empty spaces, resulting in a bad bite. The imbalance caused by missing teeth can also lead to gum disease and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders.
